2010 WINGS Grants

NOTE: The application deadline was March 26, 2010.  No more applications are being accepted for 2010.

It’s an exciting 10th anniversary year for WINGS grant making. We have a new, online grant application allowing you to fill out your application online and e-mail it to the WINGS grant chair. You may also print it out, make six copies and mail them with the original to WINGS. But we think you’ll find the new online application more convenient.

That’s not the only change. This year we have removed the caveat in our grant policy that we do not fund operations. Given the needs of nonprofits in difficult times, WINGS grants will support ongoing operations.

We also want to clarify that we will fund a project that meets the criteria of our grant policy for multiple years.

Target Grant for Basic Needs

In our 10th anniversary year, the membership has decided to dedicate $10,000 of our total funds (about one-fifth) to basic needs for women and children. Basic needs include food, clothing and shelter. Programs that assist with foundational support in a difficult economy will be selected for this 2010 target grant. More than one organization may benefit from the $10,000.

Additional Grants

This year, nonprofits and our membership have informed us of additional needs that we will be looking to address, including:

*Early childhood education
*Economic development
*Environmental concerns
*Health and safety
*Transportation
*Youth development

WINGS seeks to award grants to programs that inform and transform our community, and we will continue to fund diverse programs. Please review the grant policy on the application to see if your organization and program meet the criteria for a WINGS grant.
