Board of Directors

OFFICERS
President Lynn Vincent is a Principal in Vincent and McBride, Inc., a Northfield firm dedicated to helping businesses and nonprofits thrive. She is the retired CEO of the Girl Scout Council of Cannon Valley, having held the same position in two other councils. Her life-long passion has been equality for women and girls, which matches very well the mission of WINGS. Lynn has served as an at-large member and as vice president of the Board during 2006 and 2007.
Vice President Nancy Carlson is a homemaker, artist, and active volunteer. She and her husband, Greg Carlson, have three daughters, Katie, Becca and Lizzie. Nancy serves on the board of Interfaith Services to Latin America (ISLA), and for the past six years has traveled to Nicaragua annually for mission work. She has been involved with the Northfield Arts Guild, and served as the Membership Committee chair of the WINGS Board in 2007.
Secretary Jean Noack is a native Northfielder who moved back to the area with her family almost 10 years ago. She has been an active volunteer in her children’s activities and schools and currently coaches the girls’ basketball team at St. Dominic School, where her children attend.
Treasurer Carol Korda has been a Northfield resident since 1993 and is a founding member of WINGS. She “retired” from U.S. Bank in 1994 after 23 years in the investment field.
Ex-officia Past President Jennifer Sawyer is married to Christopher Sawyer and has three sons: Grant, Garrett and Gabriel. She works at College City Beverage as consumer awareness and education director. Jennifer is a director at First National Bank and a board member of the Northfield Area Foundation and 5th Bridge.
AT-LARGE BOARD MEMBERS
Mary Douglass has lived in Northfield for 25 years and is the mother of four young adult children. She spent a number of years as volunteer librarian at St. Dominic School and is currently employed at St. Olaf College Health Service.
Kris Estenson is the Social Entrepreneurship Coordinator of the Center for Experiential Learning at St. Olaf College. She and her husband, Rick, have two children, Sam and Maria. She also works for the College of Education at Minnesota State University, Mankato, as the coordinator of clinical and field experience. She is currently pursuing her doctorate of education at Hamline University.
Erin Mayberry is the Recreation Coordinator for Northfield Public Schools Community Services Division. She also is active in Cannon Valley Rotaract, the Rotary-sponsored service club for young women and men, and is a mentor with Connected Kids, a school-based initiative that aims to strengthen engagement of Northfield youth in school and in the community through mentoring relationships with positive caring adults. She has lived in Northfield for four years.
COMMITTEE CHAIRS
Sue deMalignon, Membership Committee chair, has been a Northfield area resident since 1970, moving from rural Valley Grove to Bridge Square. For more than 20 years she has been a Carleton College employee, first at the college bookstore and now at River City Books. She also is active on the Northfield Heritage Preservation Commission, where she is currently serving her fifth year.
Margit Johnson, Outreach Committee chair, is a 35-year resident of Northfield and has had a multi-faceted career including working as the Northfield Library children’s librarian, Rice County recycling coordinator, and Carleton College director of off-campus studies. She has volunteered in Sibley School’s gifted and talented program, the Northfield Planning Commission, the Northfield League of Women Voters, and the Carleton Japanese garden.
Catherine McBride, Grants Committee chair, is the founding president of WINGS. She helped establish WINGS in 2000 as a response to her lifelong commitment to building economic success for women and children. McBride has more than 25 years of financial services experience, primarily as a Registered Investment Advisor for Norwest and Wells Fargo. She is a Principal at Vincent and McBride, Inc., a firm dedicated to helping businesses and nonprofits thrive. Active in the community, McBride serves on the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota Board of Trustees, and on the boards of ArtOrg, the Cannon River Stem School, and the Northfield Area Foundation.
